Last winter, Alexa bought a couple of cobalt blue suede pot holders at March in San Francisco; I've been secretly coveting them ever since. Why are they so appealing? "They're pleasingly tactile," Alexa says. "They even look better with time, the way a suede jacket keeps getting better and better. I use them primarily for top-of-the-stove activities, for pouring boiling water from my tea kettle. When I need to clean them, I just brush them off; they're surprisingly stain-resistant."
